That’s fair. And honestly, I get it. So if you’re here and you don’t want to be, scroll right down to the bottom of this email and click that unsubscribe button. No harm, no foul. Promise <3

Still here? Happy to have you. Let me tell you a little about myself. OG Roomies, here’s a refresher ;)
I’m Chantal Roome, writer of the completed Sleeping Dogs series of spicy cinnamon roll rockstar romcoms, the spicy holiday romcom, Santa’s Baby, and the upcoming release TMWYBS (full title and cover to be revealed soon!).
As I like to say, I’m a writer of spicy romance, expert napper, avid coffee drinker, and mediocre wife & mom.
The Roomie Review is my newsletter where you’ll get information about book updates, stories about my dogs (and occasionally my family), and the occasional contest, book swap, and promo. I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s get into it.
Update on the Rib Situation…
Some of you already know that I’ve been sick for weeks with a cough that just won’t quit. You also know that a couple of weeks ago, I managed to cough hard enough that I bruised my ribs. The update on that situation is… they still hurt. Actually, they might hurt worse now than they did before. I had a few days of excruciating pain, a few days of not so bad pain, and now I’m somewhere in between those two. It’s been a rough month, but I’m getting there.
The issue with the ribs is that it’s put a damper on my word count for my upcoming release, TMWYBS, the shared world romcom I’ve got slated for release later this Spring. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nearly done. But it’s been hard to concentrate on the fine tuning as much as I’d like. I’m confident it will be ready, though, so keep your eyes open for that. We’re discussing social media strategy surrounding cover reveals and the like this weekend so you won’t be waiting long.
What the dogs are up to…
Rocky has been in good shape since the unfortunate situation two weeks ago (coincidentally the same day that I hurt my ribs) when he had a cluster of seizures over the course of two and half days. He’s back to his normal, happy self now, and we couldn’t be more thankful.
Mina is the same old pain in the butt puppy she’s always been. She’s adorable when Rocky has a seizure, though. She’s nervous while it’s happening, but as soon as he’s resting, she rests her head next to his on his towel (the one we use to wipe his slobbery face) and keeps him company. It’s a cute respite from the worry we go through when Rocky is seizing.
The Trouble with Reading…
I’ve just finished reading an urban fantasy series and I’m having the overwhelming urge to add a happy little vampire or a cute fluffy werewolf to my current works in progress. The thing is, neither of these projects can accommodate either of these creatures. But I still really want to write something a little more paranormal so I’m considering starting a pen name for that purpose. You know, because I don’t have anything else I should be writing right now.

Newly divorced, she’s ready for independence, family, and adventure … until a chance meeting with her secret teenage crush threatens to derail her.

They could easily become involved.
