Seriously, if you read fast and love small town romantic comedies in shared worlds, keep reading because these are the ARCs for you.
It’s finally here, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. As the books in the Tuft Swallow series of small town romantic comedies begin to make their way onto Amazon for preorder, we, the authors of the books, are opening up an amazing opportunity for ARC readers. We want people who will read the entire series of seven books and, hopefully, leave reviews about them on your favourite channel (Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
If you plan to review on Amazon, please be cognizant of your choice of wording. The Amazon bots have been getting extra sticky with reviews that say things like “I received this book in exchange for my honest review” or “Thanks to (author name) for the ARC copy” or basically any language that insinuates you only got the book because you promised to leave a review. I’ve even heard of cases where Amazon banned ARC readers from ever leaving reviews again for language like this.Just something to be aware of.
So how do you get in on this amazing opportunity? By filling out a form, of course. (Everything requires a form of some sort these days, don’t you think?)
The books will release every two weeks starting May 7th 2024 so you would begin receiving eARCs (sorry, we will not be providing physical ARCs for this project) in the next couple of weeks.
Want to learn more about Tuft Swallow? Check out the cover and blurb for my book in this shared world.
When Nick “Odd Duck” D’Onofrio retires from his MMA career at thirty-eight years old, he has four goals he wants to accomplish with the rest of his life: open a fight gym in his hometown of Tuft Swallow, finally learn to play cornhole without embarrassing himself, amass the largest collection of rubber ducks the world has ever seen, and start a family. Six months ago he moved back, opened Put Up Your Ducks MMA, hired a former world champion cornholer to be his coach, and currently has the second largest rubber duck collection in the world, but that’s where his luck ran out. Despite looking for someone to start a family with, he just can’t seem to find “the one”. At least, he couldn’t until he was out for a jog and ran directly into the woman of his dreams, literally. He slammed right into her in the middle of the sidewalk, and it was pretty much love at first sight. For him, anyway. She had other ideas.
Tina Falcone moved to Tuft Swallow five years ago against her family’s wishes. You see, in the Falcone family, the women get married and have babies and the men move away to open pizza restaurants. But Tina never wanted the responsibility of looking after a husband and kids. The only thing she ever wanted was to open a pizza restaurant of her own. So that’s what she did. As the proud owner of Wings and Pizza, Tuft Swallow’s only walk-up pizza place, she is perfectly content to run her restaurant, listen to true crime podcasts, and create creepy miniature cemeteries out of modeling clay and thrifted pottery. If she could just get her overbearing mother off her case about the fact that she’s a thirty-six-year-old spinster who refuses to date, her life would be perfect. Her contentedness is put to the test when a giant teddy bear of a man with a rubber ducky tramp stamp tattoo slams into her just outside her restaurant. There’s just something about his giant grin, huge muscles, squishy belly, and tiny running shorts that makes her wonder if her refusal to date is actually serving her any longer. She wonders if maybe it’s time to give love a chance?
As things between Nick and Tina ramp up, so do the issues they have to contend with in their personal lives. The young fighter staying with Nick for an extended training camp can’t find his foster parents and hasn’t seen his biological parents in years. Nick simply cannot get the hang of cornhole no matter how much he practices. Random men keep showing up at Tina’s restaurant, insisting she made dates with them on dating apps she’s never used in her life. And to top it all off, Tina’s teenaged part-time employee suffers a tragedy and finds himself in need of a place to stay. With everything else vying for their attention, do Nick and Tina even have a chance at love? Or will the other responsibilities that keep cropping up force them apart?
TW: mentions of child abandonment, alcoholism, drug use, death of a parent, house fire
Not sure you want to commit to reading the entire series but still want the opportunity to join my personal ARC team? That’s a different form :D
In other news…
I somehow managed to hurt my ribs again, which I’m sure you can guess feels just delightful. But enough about me, let’s talk about my dogs.
Rocky had blood work done yesterday and we got great news. His liver enzyme count has gone down, and the levels of his medications are within ideal range, which are both good things. This means his liver isn’t getting (as) damaged, and there’s room to increase the dosage a wee but if we find that we need to. The vet also informed me another emergency medication we could consider giving him at the onset of seizures that might help prevent clustering. The only bad news from the visit is that, at 81lbs, he‘s a bit of a chonker (but hunger is a side effect of more than one of his medications, so…)
Mina is also in good health and she’ll be going in to get fixed next week. I’m debating on buying her a recovery suit (like a baby sleeper for a dog) to see if that would be more comfortable than a cone for her. Have any of you used one for one of your pets? Keep in mind Mina is over 60lbs, if you think that makes a difference at all.
Have you heard about Kobo Plus yet?
#YOLO with Kobo is coming up in a week so now’s your chance to sign up for this great program. It’s like KU except it’s a little cheaper, you can borrow as many eligible books as you want, and one of the plans even includes audiobooks! And the best thing is, new authors are making their books available on Kobo Plus every day.
I made the move to Kobo Plus a few months ago because I wanted to make my books available to more readers. Kobo Plus doesn’t require exclusivity from the authors who participate in the program so we can have our ebooks for sale on all digital retailers (we can even sell direct like I do at shop.chantalroome.com) unlike Amazon who only let’s you sell your ebooks on Amazon when you make your book available in Kindle Unlimited.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love KU. In fact, my next release, Tit Me With Your Best Shot, will be in KU for the foreseeable future. And I read KU books all the time. But I also love Kobo Plus, and in the months since I signed up for my own subscription, I’ve read several new to me authors (including some whose first books I read in KU).
Oh, and did I mention the first month is FREE? Sign up here → https://geni.us/KoboPlusUS (affiliate link)

That’s all I have for you this week. Honestly, I’m surprised I wrote this much. My ribs are killing me and Advil and Voltaren just aren’t cutting it anymore.
Until Next Time,
Chantal

Sometimes you find love only after you lose everything else.
One night stands only need apply.
Ali Stinson is having a bad day. Her afternoon tryst was interrupted (before they got to the good part) to discover her investment manager ran away with all her money. Now she has to keep up appearances with her high society friends, find a dress for an upcoming charity event, and not fall in love with Sam, the cute bartender, who insists on helping her. Thing is, she’s 90% sure she doesn’t want help. Adulting is hard.
Looking for work, not love.
Sam Freemont is having a strange day. He was in the middle of the best kiss of his life when his boss walked in and halted the fun, which is not helping with the low profile he’s trying to maintain. Now he can’t get Ali off his mind or out of his dreams. Good thing she’s a regular at the swanky resort he just started working at. Gives him time to find a way back to her lips. Or better yet, into her heart.
